Jamaica, island country, third largest island of the Greater Antilles of the West Indies, situated south of Cuba.

Jamaica Gleaner is the oldest and best known news paper on the island. It presently faces competition form newer outlets such as the Jamaica Observer.  Other popular media sources include: Radio Jamaica; CVM TV  and the Jamaica Star.

Jamaican Sports  
Sports has always being a central part of Jamaican life. Among the most popular ones are track & field, swimming, soccer, cricket, netball, table-tennis and boxing. Lately others such as basketball, tennis, golf and squash have caught on.
