SDTS and Compatibility Issues With ArcGIS 9.x Software - GIS is a rapidly growing field as different companies have flooded the market with software. This software implements their own data types to store and encode spatial data. As a result, computer programmers need to devise interoperability routines between all of these dissimilar systems. Because of this, SDTS (Spatial Data Transfer System) format was created as a universal format that all software vendors could convert to and from. This paper discusses some issues between ESRI and this SDTS format. Organic Farming Practices in the United States - This paper explores the use of organic farming techniques in the United States and where it is practiced the most. Wildland Fires Around Military Installations - This paper uses GIS and remotely sensed data to determine military installations in the United States that are most prone to be affected by these wildland fires. This was written for a seminar that I took while a PhD student at George Mason University. My Dissertation Web Page - Link to my current dissertation work. Master's Thesis - This is my Master's Thesis that I wrote at the University of Idaho. I have learned a lot since doing this and I did this in Java 1.2 instead of Java 2 because the machines that I used for testing were not equipped for Java 2.
