 1.       Spring has finally come.

2.       The weather is warm.

3.       Winning ballgames makes a coach popular.

4.       Winning teams are popular with their fans.

5.       Birthday cards bring happiness.

6.       They give people pleasure.

7.       Hanes Park is a small park with many tennis courts.

8.       The tennis center makes Hanes Park a busy place.

9.       University Day will give us a chance to catch our breath.

10.   Student elections are very interesting.

11.   Candidates put posters up all over campus.

12.   Most of the posters include a picture of the candidate.

13.   Some candidates smile brightly.

14.   Some candidates look serious.

15.   After the elections, candidates should remove posters from the campus.

16.   After events, everyone should remove advertisements from bulletin boards.

17.   Sonia Sanchez came to WSSU on October 24. (note)

18.   She read us some of her poems.

19.   Sonia Sanchez is a very good contemporary poet.

20.   We need air conditioning in this warm weather.

21.   Dogwoods and redbud trees make North Carolina beautiful in spring. (note)

23.   Winter kept us warm. (note)

24.   T. S. Eliot wrote The Waste Land.

25.   First-time readers usually find The Waste Land difficult.
