PBS American Masters: Paul Robeson

E-Music:  Paul Robeson-Great Voices of the Century  Hear brief clips of some of Robeson's greatest recordings--frustrating, but better than not having heard him!

This library timeline includes a picture of Robeson playing Othello.

Carl Van Vechten's portrait of Robeson belongs to the National Portrait Gallery.  To see Van Vechten's portrait of Robeson as Othello, search for Robeson's name in Creative Americans:  Portraits by Carl Van Vechten.

"Paul Robeson and the Theater," by Amiri Baraka, first appeared in Black Renaissance Volume 2, Number 1.  It is a detailed and enlightening essay which unfortunately seems not to be available online at the moment.
